Qingdao Boxwell Container Co.,Ltd strictly performs underwater leak testing for every offshore mud skip before delivery. The offshore mud skip, also known as cuttings box, is DNV 2.7-1 certified, specially designed to store and transport drilling cuttings and mud waste on offshore platforms.
Underwater leak test is one of the most critical quality inspection procedures. After welding and painting, the whole mud skip is fully submerged in the test water tank. Inspectors carefully check all weld seams, covers, drain openings and connecting joints. We observe whether there are continuous air bubbles escaping from any position of the tank. Any bubble indicates potential leakage, which must be repaired and retested.
Apart from the underwater submersion leak test, the mud skip also undergoes air pressure and vacuum pull tests. Besides these tightness checks, standard non-destructive weld inspection and lifting load tests are also mandatory items in our quality workflow.
This series of tests verifies the integrity of the welding structure and sealing performance. When the mud skip is lifted on offshore rigs, it may face rough sea conditions, splashing seawater and vibration during hoisting. Reliable leak prevention can stop hazardous drilling waste from leaking into the marine environment, protecting ocean ecology.
Supported by ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems, our factory controls every production link. Each mud skip has a unique serial number for full traceability. We only release products after passing all inspections.
Our rigorous testing demonstrates our commitment to product safety and environmental protection. We keep delivering high-performance offshore containers for global oil and gas clients.
